Songs in Movies

Before claiming that I am a fan of movies, I have to emphasize how much I am a big fan of musical movies and soundtracks. Looking at the playlist of the soundtrack and watching music videos on youtube is my common routine after watching a movie, instead of reading movie reviews or searching up actors and actresses. The experience of immersing myself in the large sounds of music and scenes displayed on the big screen at the movie theater is a great joy for me, and the reason why I'm a fan of musicals. Here are some movies which feature my favorite songs.

The Greatest Showman

The movie showcases the story of P.T Barnum, an entrepreneur and circus producer in the 18th century, and his rise from nothing to famous circus director. Many songs and soundtracks are played throughout the circus scenes and Barnum’s childhood. The most famous songs are “This is Me” and “Never Enough”, but my favorites are “Rewrite the Stars”, which follows Zac Efron and Zendaya’s love story, and “Come Alive”, which showcases Barnum and his circus crew teamwork.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Released in 2018, this movie follows the story of legendary rock band ‘Queen’ and Freddie Mercury, the band leader. I watched this movie with my dad, who grew up listening to various Queen’s songs, and we were able to have some musical connections as I was fascinated by Queen’s songs in the movie. After watching the movie twice, I constantly listened to the full list of movie soundtracks which includes “Under Pressure”, “Don’t stop me now”, “Somebody To Love”, and many other Queen’s songs.

Moana

Disney’s movie soundtracks are always fascinating and usually perfect for all ages. Although there are many other Disney animations that I love such as Frozen, Zootopia, and Encanto, Moana is my favorite. The story and lessons from the movie always makes me think that I’m actually in the movie with the characters. Obviously, the soundtrack is amazing and I highly recommend listening to “How Far I'll Go” and “I Am Moana”.
