All of us here at International Neighbors would like to wish Shirley W. a very Happy 90th Birthday!
On IN Days, Shirley W. organized and managed the child care available in the nursery for many years until the pandemic started. She took such good care of the children! We would like to take this opportunity to thank Shirley for all her help over the years and for all the love she has shown our little ones.

Shirley is a good friend of mine, whom I had the chance to know more than 40 years ago. I have known her since 1976, when my husband was a student at the University of Michigan. At that time, I joined International Neighbors.
Ever since those days, Shirley has been taking care of babies with an open heart. I used to leave Rosa, my first daughter who was six months old at the time, under her supervision.
Once, when we were participating in International Day, she took a picture of Rosa in the church and surprised me by bringing the photo to me at the University family housing where we were living. It meant a lot to me, because there were no cellphones in those days and the films taken needed a long process to become pictures. She is loving, caring and a very kind person.
I also recently had the honor to have her in our Ann Arbor tea group as a very good hostess. We always enjoyed her delicious cake, apple sauce and tea at her house when she was hosting. I indeed enjoyed having her as my friend and I appreciate that. We wish her a good healthy life and happiness for many years to come. I love her so much!
