The Board has received the nomination of Stephanie for the position of Treasurer. Stephanie moved here last year from Connecticut with her husband. They have a multi-generational family consisting of two adult daughters and two young grandchildren.
Stephanie’s past career was with The United Nations which gives her a unique experience that she can bring to IN… our own United Nations in Ann Arbor! In her role at the UN, Stephanie served as the spokesperson for the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs which included acting as the press secretary for the undersecretary of that office. The purpose of this UN Office is to coordinate all humanitarian action in the world. Stephanie has an extensive background in the affairs of Afghanistan, serving as the spokesperson for the UN Afghanistan program as well as writing reports for the world food program in that country.
Stephanie joined IN last September and participates in a reading discussion group led by Adrienne and Veronica. She also volunteers at Kiwanis, the Ann Arbor Public Library, Delonis Shelter and JFS. Have you heard the expression, “If you want something done, give the task to a busy person.” I think Stephanie personifies that! We will officially welcome Stephanie to the Board at the General Meeting in May.
